 | Subject: ...my research topic... Mon Jun 29, 2009 3:17 pm | |
| Sir, the title of my topic is "E-waste(Electronic Waste) for a Green Environment".
My research topic would be a research on dealing with e-waste. Since that electronic waste is a big problem in our environment today because the parts of a computer is not biodegradable. My research would be a proposal on the ways to deal with e-waste. More likely on computer recycling.
"Computers sure are handy when they are working... but once they've chewed their last byte, things can get a little messy. Toxic chemicals, carcinogens and heavy metals are all part of what makes their clocks tick, and improper disposal can bring them all a little too close for human comfort. Computer recycling is nothing new, but getting your old electronics to the great motherboard in the sky can be tricky to do responsibly."

| hmmm.. nagselos ko kay nagpost na si angel... joke I am actually thinking of COMPARING GREEN IT BASED COMPUTERS to the non green IT based computers... nothing is really final yet and i am still thinking about other topics but if anyone of you visit this thread, I invite you to comment on my proposal... still reading if this study is feasible.. thanks for helping... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- life is one shot |

 | Subject: what's on my mind Mon Jun 29, 2009 7:34 pm | |
| hi sir!
what i have in mind is a CO2 Emission Calculator, there are various software available in the web, but what i have noticed is that those software focuses on household, transportation via land or air.
the proposal will focus on the computing devices and peripherals calculating it's energy consumption probably involving how many hours was the device used per day and more.. after a value has been calculated, with the help of some data about CO2 emissions per device we can have the result of how many tons of CO2 does that device emit.
i am still reading from my resources if this proposal is possible or realistic and thinking of some other proposals |

| Sir,
I am thinking of proposing a research topic about Harnessing Solar Energy for a better Green Computing. This is about utilizing SOLAR ENERGY to be able to acquire electricity for personal computers.
Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity. Solar power is produced by collecting sunlight and converting it into electricity. This is done by using solar panels, which are large flat panels made up of many individual solar cells. |

| I'm thinking about Bio Battery ...I'm not quite sure about this yet , i have already read some articles about it though. Bio Battery uses juices extracted from fruits and wastes of the animals... I'm looking forward for your comments everyone... |

According to the article i had read:
This "Green PCs" offers a complete ergonomic solution to increasing worldwide environmental legislation. Also are designed to rigorously comply with new, stringent EU (European Union) guidelines, which will new force by mid 2006,restricting the use of hazardous substances.
This would answered the question:
How these "Green PCs" be useful in depleting the ozone layer?

| hello sir!
I'm thinking of "DISK ENERGY: (Write Off-Loading: Practical Power Management)" after i read an article about this.
"Power consumption is a major problem for data centers of all sizes which impacts the density of servers and the total cost of ownership. "...
For now sir, this is my first topic but i'll try to find another topic... |
