Ever heard of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)?
I think we all have. If I remember it correctly, Sir Gamboa mentioned something about this already.
For starter, let's define the topic.
RFDI (Radio Frequency Idenification) is a technology similar to bar code identification. However, it is superior in the sense that it has greater scanning distance and does not require the line-of-sight reading of the bar code. It is the use of an object (typically referred to as an RFID tag) applied to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification and tracking using radio waves.
Based on the article I've read in a magazine, insertion of the said technology or chip into a certain Filipino named Alex Arevalo has already been performed. With regard to this, my concern is about human RFID and how it will affect and promote green computing.
I've read that the materials alone in making these kind of chips are greatly eco-unfriendly. So why am I still proposing this topic? Well, I guess I'm just looking at the brighter side of this technology. This could replace the ID systems that we are currently employing. And with this, less usage of devices and machines like computers in monitoring IDs in different organizations like NBI, insurance companies, etc. Think about it.
I'm kinda hesitant to present this topic but I find it interesting so I'm asking for your opinions and suggestions on what are the possible course of actions and ideas could be extracted from this.
(ok lng pd if dli ma approve.hehe)
