Conduct a training needs assessment for IC faculty members. Formulate your own instrument and discuss your findings and recommendations

Faculty trainings are important to an IT related matter, thus they have to undergo such training to be orient and improved their knowledge on how to handle their duties and responsibilities. There are lots of instrument uses to implement a training ground. As basic I would prefer to have a power point presentation for presenting training then hands on will be followed.
An example, the IC should have training for web related material as of how they will go to present it to the student.

1. Develop a presentation: IC should have presentation of the overview of the said training. In the example, in web developing they should know the overview of it, the feasibility, the resources needed.
2. Provide Instruction: IC should provide some instruction regarding the training. Whether a computer-based tutorial or a snapshot of the training example should be appropriate to establish tutorial. This will show the faculty to the availability of the resources and the feasibility of the new scheme.
3. Carry out the training: this will be the implementation of the training. They should follow the instruction given or the presentation that are being agreed by the entire department.
4. Follow ups: the faculty should see and research for the continuous improvement of the scheme. Thus if they find out new and effective tool to replace the existing scheme they will be conducting another training again

We have chosen the area RESEARCH AND EXTENSION for this assignment. The following are the possible questions we are going to ask the faculty of the Institute of Computing.

Research:
1. Have you conducted a research study as a faculty?
2. How many have you completed?
3. What is/are your study/studies about?
4. Are you currently working on a research?
5. What factors hinder you from doing research? In what way do they hinder you?
6. How do you/will you deal with these factors?
7. What are your plans for the future regarding research?
8. Is there support from institutions when you are doing your research? Are you satisfied with the support they give?
9. As a faculty, what benefits can you get from doing research?
10. What benefits does the funding institution get from your research?
11. As a faculty, what can you do/suggest to improve the current state of research in the Institute of Computing?

Extension:
1. Have you joined extension services in your stay as a faculty?
2. What types of extension services have you done or would like to do?
3. How much budget is allocated to these activities?
4. When was the last time you joined an extension service? Tell us briefly about your experience.
5. Have you initiated an extension service?
6. If you could initiate an extension service, what would you choose to do?
7. What factors keep you from joining extension activities?
8. As a faculty and as an individual, what benefits can you get from doing extension services?

The questions still need to be validated by RSG. We are still waiting for his "comments" Very Happy so we can't proceed yet. We agreed with the class assignment, after all...
